LinkedIn is a platform where corporate reputation is directly at stake — a fake company page, a profile impersonating one of your employees, or a misleading post about your brand can seriously damage trust among your business partners and prospective hires.
Reporting a fake profile
- On the suspicious profile's page, click "More" → "Report/Block"
- Select the "Fake profile" reason and explain its relationship to the real person/brand, if applicable
- LinkedIn has a separate Brand Violation Report Form for corporate page impersonation
Reporting a reputation-damaging post
If a post contains false or reputation-damaging information about your brand, it can be reported using the "Report" option on the post itself. Given LinkedIn's professional platform identity, complaints backed by evidence are generally reviewed faster.
Why is corporate risk especially high?
Fake LinkedIn profiles are commonly used for B2B fraud (fake job offers, fake investor meetings), directly damaging your reputation in your business relationships — early detection matters a great deal here.
Achernar's Fake Account Tracking service continuously monitors professional and social media platforms, including LinkedIn, for accounts impersonating your brand.
