Snapchat's "disappearing content" (ephemeral content) structure makes detecting and proving violations harder than on other platforms — a Snap can vanish shortly after being viewed, which is why taking a screenshot is critical.
Reporting content (Snap/Story)
- Save the relevant content with a screenshot if possible — Snapchat may notify the sender that a screenshot was taken in some cases; this is expected and fine
- Press and hold the content/account and select "Report"
- If the in-app report isn't sufficient, you can use Snapchat's web-based "Support" form
Reporting a fake account
For a Snapchat account impersonating your brand, use "Report" → "It's impersonating someone" from the account's profile. Snapchat also has a separate trademark reporting channel for corporate brand violations.
Why is this an especially difficult platform?
